I needed a nap when we got to the zoo, but once I was out of the stroller and on the loose, I went right into climbing mode. I was trying to get as high as possible in case the view of the flamingos, ducks, and various other water birds was better from there. Or maybe I just wanted to rest my arms on top of the rail...just like my Daddy does.
As noted in the "Things We SAW" post, I had a great time playing with all the fish. Getting up and running around woke me up quite nicely. Daddy carried me at times, and at others I was back in my stroller, but I did a lot of walking on my own. I didn't tire out TOO much until it was close to time to head back to the car. I had a twenty minute nap...a very much needed one by that point!
Daniel played in this tunnel. It had little windows, a few doors, and was just the right height for us. Unfortunately, no one let me out of my stroller to play in it.
We all thought the tide pool was fun. Daddy ducked from the spray.
I loved all the animals, fish, and birds, but these fountains may have been my favorite part of the day. I was a little scared of them at first. Once Mom quit trying to video us and just stood near the water with me, I was fine. It was a warm day, so that water felt really nice! By the end I was completely drenched, and extremely happy. I could have stayed there much longer too.
Some kids were putting their shoes on the fountains to watch them fly into the air when the water shot out. Daniel used his foot.It was a really fun day. I came home with a big penguin (of course I call him Mumble) and a funny shark mask. I'd love to do that again sometime. Maybe that would be a good excuse to visit Daniel again...and who knows, Jack may want to go too.
P.S. I did find Nemo...he's on Daniel's swim diaper...ha ha!
