Not Daddy's, Maddie's Glasses

Yeah, I couldn't convince Mom they were mine either, but she thought I looked awfully cute! That's Mom's hat I'm wearing too. I thought I was ready to go outside...Mom didn't agree with me on that.

A star in the making!

Yep, I'm Funny

I love to wear everyone's shoes...I'll even try to wear shoes from when I was six months old. The other day, I added some new fun to the mix. For my birthday, Mom & Daddy gave me a new pink booster seat that fits better at the table than my old high chair. That doesn't stop me from still using the old chair for playtime. When Mom spotted me, I had Daddy's BIG boots on, and was sitting there, just enjoying myself. Then I decided his smaller boots would be more comfy. So there I posed, with my old chair against the door. Poor Daddy had just gone to take something to the garage, and in the few minutes he was out, I blocked the door on him. Then Mom helped by bringing the camera. Good thing it was on one of our thirty-something days, or Daddy might have been really cold waiting for us to let him back in the house!

I Love Books!

This is what I do for at least thirty minutes a day! Mom tried to get some video of me reading, but it distracted me too much. It may still appear on here, who knows. Anyway, I like to read the books out loud, telling the story from what I see in the pictures or what I remember from having Mom or Daddy read the books to me. Sometimes, when my nap is too short, Mom lets me just have my quiet reading time...like on my birthday. That way she got her baking time, and I at least relaxed. When I came out to see what she was doing, I even helped make my Madeleines and the cupcake frosting. I love "making" (stirring) with big spoons or the mixer. When I can read better, I'll be sure to read cookbooks so I can help Mom & Daddy with dinners! Mom says anytime I'm ready, my apron is available.

Daniel Time

I've been having extra fun lately because my cousin Daniel has been staying at Grandma Mary's while his Mommy & Daddy are in Hawaii. Besides coming for my birthday pizza party (see below if you missed that story), he spent all day Tuesday and Friday with us. We'd have taken him even more than that, but Great-Gommie wanted some time with him too.
Tuesday started out a little rough. Mom had to play referee a lot because Daniel hadn't been taking naps and I had started my day too early -- maybe they shouldn't have been telling me Daniel was coming, and I'd have slept a few more hours! We were a bit grouchy with each other. After lunch, Mom asked Daniel if he wanted to take a nap in my bed, and he did...for three hours. It was tough for me. I took a nap too, but I don't sleep over 1.5 hours unless I'm really worn out. Mom had to keep reminding me not to go poke at Daniel and wake him up. I asked her about every five minutes if Daniel was still sleeping! She tried to keep me busy with dishes and helping to start supper, but I just wanted Daniel to come out and play.

Friday was better. We had fun having snacks and playing in my tent. We love to pull more and more toys in there until Mom thinks there's no room left for us...then we prove her wrong. it's also a great place for peek-a-boo, watching movies, and chasing -- we dive in the door, then out the window. I did have a bit of a meltdown when we played on my Tinkerbell rug, and Mom gave me the wrong wand. She gave me the Tink wand, but I wanted my Abby wand. I was so upset, Daniel wanted to go find his Mommy. Mom reminded me that Daniel was only here a few days, and I could play with my toys any time, so I gave him the Abby wand. It all worked well!
Mom was very proud of both of us for our potty work too! We took turns going the first day, but I wanted to wear Diego pants like Daniel's. Then I remembered I had princess big girl pants, so it was okay. On Friday, Daniel used the potty a few times all by himself. He didn't even tell anyone he had to go. Mom told him what a good job he does with the potty. I tried to remind him a few times to use the potty, but he didn't need my help. He knew when he had to go.

At dinner time, Grandma Mary came over again, and after eating, she and Daniel had to go to her house for bedtime. Tonight, we're going there for one last night of fun before Daniel has to head home. I'll miss having him so close, but I bet he'll be glad to see his Daddy & Mommy again.

Me and Elmo

This was supposed to be one of my birthday presents, but I found it about a week early. Mom kept hiding it in a new spot, and I'd find it again every time. Mom calls it Elmodar, though I did the same thing with Brobee (Mom wouldn't let me have that bag, so I started calling it Mom's Brobee...and she still wouldn't let me near it!). She finally let me open the Elmo box, and even helped me put it together.
I tried to pick up Elmo, but the pieces wouldn't stay together, so I decided to hang out on the table with him. He's about my size!

Happy Anniversary, Uncle John & Auntie Jenny

Wow! They're officially an old, married couple now. It's been 10 years...that's a lot longer than I've been around!
They get to celebrate with a trip to Hawaii, where they got married. And visit every year. Daddy says they should go some place more fun...with snow...or ships...

It's My Birthday!

For my real "hapbirtday" we invited the family over for pizza dinner and my birthday desserts -- Mom made cupcakes and Madeleines. Daniel was staying at Grandma Mary's while his parents are on vacation, so they were there along with Boppa, Gram G, Aunt Dan, Aunt Karen, and Aunt Sherry. The cupcakes were in Tinkerbell wrappers (and I wore my newest Tink shirt from Aunt Sherry) with green flakes and a pink M for Maddie on them. Mine had sprinkles too, and of course two candles.
I know all about this candle business now, so I had them blown out before Mom was ready the camera and everyone else was ready to sing. What can I say, now that I'm two, I'm really on the ball!
Ya gotta love it when everyone cheers for you... sometimes you even have to join in on the clapping!
Mom and Daddy gave me the second "Animals" movie (Madagascar 2) since it came out on my birthday. They also gave me some Tinkerbell bubble bath and a Brobee shirt. We thought everyone else was done with presents, but Boppa and Grandma had one more for me -- a baby with her own stroller. Mom was glad because this summer I will be able push my baby's stroller when she pushes my baby sister on walks around the yard. Daniel liked my new baby too. He wanted to make sure she had her bottle all the time. I tried to keep my baby away from him, but everyone reminded me about sharing. After that, we took turns pushing, but we both stayed very close to the stroller.
It was a great day. Thank you again to everyone for coming and having more birthday fun with me.

Happy Birthday, MADDIE!!

We can't believe you're already two-years-old! It seems like just yesterday we brought you home. You've grown and learned so much in your two short years! We're very proud of you and still amazed by you every day. We love you; happy second birthday, M is for Maddie!

"Thank you much much...much much"

We just wanted to thank everyone again for coming to Maddie's party. Thank you, Jenny for finding the Tinkerbell balloon. It made her week. She was disappointed to come home Wednesday and find Tink unable to fly, but still she carries the balloon around and hangs out with it! Thank you, Boppa for bringing your ice cream. Thank you, Aunt Jenny (& family) and Grandma Mary for the dollhouse furniture and additional Little People...she will stand at the dollhouse for an hour moving people around, putting them to bed, in chairs, in the tub. Though, she was confused that the light wouldn't turn on (as she was a few weeks ago when she wanted me to make the sinks/tub work!), but has accepted that it must need new batteries! Thanks to Aunt Dan & Aunt Karen for the new books...she felt every page of the Tink one that night, and went to bed with Marley. Thanks to Grandma Mary for the jammies. She wore Hello Kitty to bed that night...and she wore the top most of the next day! Thank you Grandma G & Boppa for the new computer and keyboard. It's great for her to have more stuff at your house, and wonderful for us not to have to cart her other computer back and forth! Thank you to Great-Gommie & Great Grandpa for Frosty "Nowman" -- he is much loved and gets lots of hugs and snuggles. If I missed anything, please know it was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. As always, the gifts are fun to watch her open and enjoy, but just having her village come over for the day makes Maddie happy enough.

On Monday morning, when she woke up still wiped, I asked her if she had a good birthday party. She looked me straight in the eyes and said, "Thank you, much, much...much, much!" Then repeated it two more times. She also took a three-hour nap that afternoon, twice as long as normal. I think that means she had a spectacular day!

My Birthday Bash

Last night, I stayed at Grandma G & Boppa's so Mom & Daddy could decorate in secret. When Daddy got close to our driveway, I saw a bunch of pink and green balloons - WOW! When I went inside to the living room, I saw this Tinkerbell banner...and got very excited!
Hmmm...who makes her entrance as a ball of light?
It's TINK, it's TINK!
1, 2 candles for me because Maddie is 2 (well, almost)! There's even an "M - Maddie" on that cake.
Jammies! I'd wear jammies all day, every day if Mom would let me.
Furniture for my dollhouse! Finally the baby has a place to sit, and the daddy can quit sleeping in the bath tub.
Oooh, a pretty lion book from Aunt Jenny. Daddy told me it's called Narnia, and he loved it when he was young.
Inside the Narnia book. Mom put this on a high shelf so I don't try to play with all the pop ups in there.
Wow! A "puter." I wonder if I can find Elmo and Curious George videos like we can on Boppa's computer.
Go, go, go, Brobee...do the Brobee...and we did. Especially Daniel. Mom has video to prove it!
Okay, we're officially on toy/present overload! Must be time for...
Sugar overload! Daddy didn't think Mom needed the stress of making my cake this year, especially since they couldn't find a Tinkerbell to fit on it. When he saw Mom looking at a cake design she actually liked in the store, he decided to just order it. Mom and I both thank you for that!
Look who was lurking around the dollhouse later that night. Guess she wanted to get in there with all my new "peoples" (including the cows), Mickey & Minnie, Pooh, and Tigger.

Thank you to everyone who was there, and those who were thinking of me while they couldn't be there. It was a fun day, and I was exhausted!
