Happy Birthdays!

Mommy & Daddy have brothers with birthdays on the same day. I got to sign cards for them:

This one was for Mommy's brother, Aunt Dan. He turned 39 this year. We went to dinner on Sunday with Aunt Dan & Aunt Karen plus Grandma & Grandpa (it was their 40th anniversary), and Aunt Dan even wore his "Awesome Aunt" badge part of the time. We should have made him open the card right away, and wear the badge all through dinner. We even got free desserts -- cannolis and triple berry cake, but no one let me have any. I guess when I am older...

This card was for Uncle Brian. He's only 33; I guess that's not very old, but to me it is. It would have been lots of fun to go to dinner with Uncle Brian too, but Utah was a bit too far to drive. Hopefully, I can see him sooner than next year. It would be lots of fun for me and my cousin Daniel to get to see him even a little more often. Who wouldn't want to see us more?! I think he should come home for Christmas to play with us.

Boat Ride

So I went on my first pontoon ride; it was interesting. Aunt Karen and Aunt Dan invited us out with Aunt Karen's parents, Carl and Susan. Mommy and Daddy had thought we might go that weekend, but we hadn't gotten me a lifejacket yet. Luckily, Carl and Susan had one for me to use. Daddy put it on the couch, and wrangled me into it. It was a very strange experience, like a car seat only weirder.

After getting over the initial shock of the thing, I got a little irritated by it. Well, I was a bit tired, so maybe that added to my crankypants attitude. Once we got on the pontoon, the hum of the motor sent me right into Dreamland (where I could forget about that straight...er, lifejacket)...for a while.

I woke up suddenly, and was very confused by where I was...and this contraption I was in?! Mommy tried to comfort me as best she could, but I just wanted out of that jacket for some cuddling. Didn't get my wish, but she kept talking to me and rubbing my back. Daddy got my bottle ready since it was well past time for me to eat, and I was wanting that too.

Today, I can laugh at how the bottle looks wedged into the lifejacket, but that day it wasn't so funny. Actually, I was so upset by the whole experience, that the second I finished eating, I projectiled a bunch back out...if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, I didn't hit anyone else. Instead, it was all down the front of that darned lifejacket, inside and out.

Hopefully, the next ride will be much better!

More Exciting Stuff!

Since the doctor said I could start having real food anytime now, Mommy and Daddy decided to let me have some rice cereal the other night. I even got to sit in my very own chair! Daddy & Mommy thought I made some funny faces at first, but I decided it wasn't such bad stuff. I've had some two more nights now, and am really getting to like it. Plus, I didn't get too messy, which seemed to really impress Mommy & Daddy. I can't wait to try more foods soon!

I'm Really Growing Now!!

Boy, I've changed a lot in the last two months! The left picture is of me back in April when I had my two month appointment. The doctor thought I was quite an eater and growing just fine. For my height and weight both, I was at about the 50th percentile. When I went in today, Mommy and Daddy were sure shocked at how much I've grown now. Mommy knew I was tall, but she thought I was too skinny -- maybe in the upper 13 pound range. Daddy thought I was probably a little over 14. Their jaws dropped to see I am almost 15 pounds (no wonder Mommy has those nice biceps!) and just over 25 inches. That puts me at about the 80th percentile for height and weight. We can't wait for my 6-month appointment since I am already pretty good at most of the stuff I need to know by then.

Quick Updates

I got very busy in late May, and didn't get to post much, so here's a quick rundown of what I was doing:

Rolling over (and over and over and over) is a fun new trick I learned. People seem to cheer a lot whenever I do it. I also like to scoot around too...mostly backwards. When Daddy and Mommy try to put me on my back, I am ready and rolling when I hit the mat.

Sitting up is so much fun! I like to do it whenever possible.

I found my feet...now it's even easier to get my socks off. Daddy says I'm going to be like Mommy and be barefoot most of my life, yet still own a lot of shoes.

I got to go for a REAL stroller ride, in the stroller seat instead of my car seat. I was lots of fun, but I got tired. By the time we got home, and Mommy & Daddy started blowing bubbles for me, I was more interested in a nap!

Memorial Day meant going to services at Grandpa Corky's grave, where I got to meet more relatives from Daddy's side of the family. They seemed to really like me, and I thought they were lots of fun. It started to rain really hard, but Uncle Brian held the umbrella so Daddy could feed me outside. Daniel was hanging out by us too. Don't we make a nice picture? We went to lunch afterwards with Grandma Mary, Aunt Jenny, Daniel, and Uncle Brian. Too soon, it was time for Aunt Jenny and Daniel to leave, but he gave me a really nice hug. It's fun hanging out with him. When I am a little bigger, he and I will have such good times!

Aunt Jenny & Uncle John went to Napa, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt. Just kidding! It's a very special shirt. Mommy says when I am done wearing it, we will save it with my hospital shirt and 2007 socks.

Spud and Spudder

Mommy caught us being couch potatoes again (we were watching an episode of "Deadliest Catch" for the third time), so she snapped our picture. Daddy noticed her getting the camera. Good thing, or you would be looking at us in full mouth-breathing pose. Hey, when we're so engrossed in Sig's latest escapades, it's hard to remember the little details!

Uncle Brian Went Back To Utah Today...

and that's all I have to say about that!
